Sepak takraw team hailed

DAVAO City Sepak Takraw Association president Nilda Sebellino Wednesday hailed the fourth runner-up finish of the Davraa secondary sepak takraw team's stint in the just-concluded 2006 Palarong Pambansa in Naga City.

"Davraa improved so much, finishing its best among 17 regions that competed in the event. We can credit that to the improved technical knowledge by the coach," Sabellino told Sun.Star Davao.

Sebellino, however, said the team could have finished better if players were given some "boosters".

"Other regions give P500 each to their players if their teams make it to the crossover then another P1,000 each if they qualify in the finals," she said.

The Davao Regional Athletic Association (Davraa) failed to make it to the top five in the Palaro overall team standings. (MLSA)
