Comval board to file raps for medicine purchase scam By Ben O. Tesiorna
THE Provincial Board of Compostela Valley is set to file graft charges against several government officials whom they believed are involved in the purchase of alleged overpriced medicines at the Montevista District Hospital.
Board member said it is highly probable that they will include Governor Jose Caballero in their complaints before the Ombudsman since he was the signatory in the alleged anomalous purchase.
The Municipal Board is set to wrap up its investigation on the issue next Wednesday and will deliberate on the evidences and testimonies they have gathered before filing the charges.
In last Wednesday's session, board members Uy and Kristin Caballero clashed anew after the young Caballero stood up to defend her father, the governor.
Uy went on to remind Caballero that though they are not accusing the governor of direct involvement in the alleged anomaly they are also not exonerating him from any liability until such time that their investigation would be over.
Caballero retorted by saying that she will not hesitate on filing anomaly charges against her father if indeed proven that the governor is involved in the alleged anomaly.
Among the identified officials that will also be charged before the Ombudsman are Dr. Eulalio Dujali, resigned Montevista Hospital chief; lawyer Anesio Ranario and the rest of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) members; a certain Allan Lagumbay and many others.
Sun.Star Davao tried getting the reaction of Caballero but failed.
