"We are expecting this edition's turnout of entries to surpass the record of 50 last year. Davao City bets and a few from Tagum will be competing against each other in different categories," Carpio said.

He said the one-day event features the 100-meter swim, 1.5 kilometer bike and 400-meter run for boys and girls seven to eight category while the nine to 10 and 11-12 divisions will have 100m swim, 3km bike and 800m run.

The 13-15 category will cover 200m swim, 6km bike and 1.2 km run.

The top three finishers in each category will receive trophies while all finishers will get medals.

Registration fee is P350 inclusive of souvenir items and packed meal, among others.

"A portion of the registration fees will be donated to the children cancer patients at the Davao Medical Center," Carpio added.

He said participants must be at the venue before the 6 a.m. opening of the race organized by the Triathlon Association of Davao (Triad). (MLSA)
