Marcelino, Kihara win golf titles
WHO else, but Tebor Marcelino.
Marcelino added another one to his collection of titles in the local golf scene when he emerged over-all gross champion in the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club monthly medal tournament played last May 27-28.
Marcelino, a perennial winner and member of the winning Palos team in the Philippine Airlines Interclub Championships last March, fired a 73 to beat the field.
Itsuo Kihara shared the limelight after winning the over-all net crown with his 63.
Chon Young Rung and Mimi Siason bagged the gross and net titles, respectively, in the Ladies Division, while Milton Liu (gross) and Jack Tan (net) also won in the Seniors Division.
In the Jungolf Division, JJ Saavedra ruled the 11 years and under, while EJ Casintahan captured the 12-17 title.
Ed Herrera and Randy Cadiogan also topped the Guest Division.
Other winners were Arnold Navales (Class D gross), Ryoki Takeuchi (Class D net), Alfred Tan (Class C gross), Albert Lam (Class B net), Lito Gutierrez (Class B gross), Tony Gumapac (Class B net), Larry Miculob (Class A gross) and Joe Marfori (Class A net). (CRAM)
