This year's DBC will be held on June 22 and 23 at the St. Therese Gym, Madang in Mati, Davao Oriental, with the Davao Oriental Eastern Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DOECCII) as the host in partnership with the local government of Mati.

With the theme "Convergence and Collaboration: Davao Region's Key to Business Dynamism," the conference will put emphasis on the cooperation among government and the private sector in developing a favorable business climate in the region.

Prelude to the conference proper will be the opening of the Davao Investment Showcase and Exhibit on June 22. This will be the venue for the launching of the Davao Industry Cluster Development Plan and the business-matching session.

DTI Regional Director for Southern Mindanao Merly M. Cruz said the activity will be an avenue for the region to unveil the opportunities that are available to the eight priority Industry Clusters, namely: banana; mango; seaweeds; coconut; mining; wood; tourism; and information and communications technology (ICT).

"The eight Industry Clusters are the major strengths of the region which we have to harness more. By having strong convergence and collaboration, it's not impossible for us to achieve utmost success in these sectors," she said.
