Enduro Adventure race

LOCAL bets will take center stage as the Enduro San Mig Light Adventures 2006 unfolds its Davao City leg on Saturday.

Organizers said the Davao leg is open to all Mindanaoans and will also expect a handful of novice participants from Manila and the Visayas.

It will be a four to six-hour race around Davao.

Three racers will comprise each team. A team may consist of two males and one female or two females and one male. A racer must be at least 18 years old and doctor-certified to do strenuous activities.

A cash prize of P15,000 will go to the champion while the runner-up will get P10,000. They will also receive trophies.

The Davao leg is part of a series and will culminate with the Metro Manila leg on July 7 and 8.

In the recently concluded Cebu leg, first Filipino Mt. Everest conqueror Leo Oracion's team, Vudu, bested 17 other teams to clinch the title.

The Cebu race consisted of several challenges such as buko challenge, guitar making, water challenge under the Marcelo Fernan bridge, cooking challenge, rappelling at the University of Cebu-Mandaue, badminton challenge, boxing and wall climbing.

Another set of exciting and exhilarating challenges await Davao leg participants.

Registration is P2,500 inclusive of race insurance and buffet dinner, among others. (MLSA)
