Militar said the committee will identify the properties of the City Government that have remained idle for the past years.

"The committee will identify these properties, have them titled, conduct a study on how these lands can be utilized by the city and recommend to the city mayor the best way on how to utilize these parcel of lands," Militar said.

Militar said there are several parcels of lands owned by the City Government that are even located in commercial areas, but are not properly utilized.

"There's no committee that assesses these lands to be developed and utilized for the good of the city," he said.

"If it will be developed by the City Government, put up a building there, allow companies to rent it, it can be a source of revenue for Davao City, just like Makati that earns millions," he added.

Councilor Dante L. Apostol will chair the newly approved committee with Militar as vice chair. (BRQ)
