Ledesma: Tidbits By Jun Ledesma Sunbursts
THERE is still a lot to learn about what looks like a simple garbage segregation process. What I am sure of is that in my own household everybody knew what's bio-degradable and non-degradable items which ought to go to this and that colored bins.
What I'm worried of at present is that the garbage collection schedule is not being followed and not in a few occasion that we have overflowing receptacles, which lure loose dogs and cats in our subdivision.
It takes sometime to learn to segregate but I think segregation is as good only as the efficiency of garbage collections.

The minority in the City Council of Davao was each given a committee o chair and memberships in other committees. They refused the offer saying they were not consulted by the members of the majority who decided which committee to spare them. They have varied reasons but I think they should have accepted the assignments and make good at it. Although I don't really begrudge them for turning down the committee assignment even if these were given to them in a silver platter.
In politics, the majority wields the baton. The minority has no reason to complain. Beggars cannot be choosy, they say, except that in the case of the Davao City Council the minority has not asked for any special favors from their ruling colleagues. Every dog has its day, or every day has its own dog. It's the wheels of fortune of political animals. Sometimes one is up in another time one is down.

Whatever happened to the relocation site for the displaced Davao Medical Center squatters, which the Housing Officials of the City had been declaring as something urgent? There were several proposed sites that were offered to the city. The first one was controversial in that the housing officials endorsed it for acquisition but later withdrew their endorsement?
I heard that there is a property, which is being sold to the city at a very low price. Despite this the acquisition documents seemed to have been nagged somewhere. What are we waiting for?

Davao Governor Gelacio Gementiza will endorse the candidacy of his vice -- Anthony del Rosario -- as his successor. But what is this we heard that Yayong when pressed about the sincerity of his endorsement retorted: Dugay pa mang eleksyon.

It was Fiesta day in Barangay Floirendo in Tadeco. As usual everybody who is who in Davao del Norte converged in Tadeco. They are there, but not so much because of the fiesta but, if I am not mistaken, to greet Don Antonio Floirendo who, despite his age, has keen mind and kept a fairly strong body for his age.
Mr. "White Hair" has spanned several presidents and administration, was in the thick of political dogfights, but he remained untainted. He has friends from various poles of political affiliations and persuasions.
He distinguished himself to be the biggest employer maybe outside of Metro Manila. When he disappeared from the scene soon after the Marcos regime Anflo was greatly missed. He came back to Davao City at the height of the failed August coup staged by RAM on the Cory Aquino. As soon as he landed in Davao City he visited friends and laborers who shed tears of happiness upon seeing Mr. White Hair back.
I can write more about Anflo but I will do that another time.
