Text fraud preying on nursing grads
CROOKS abound just waiting to snatch the money of vulnerable prey, and this time a vulnerable sector seems to be nursing graduates all set to take the board exams and hoping to finally get some placement abroad.
Text messages are now circulating claiming to come from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board of Nursing, and PRC has come up with a disclaimer.
"The PRC and the Board of Nursing will officially announce the results of the examination in two weeks time in leading newspapers and its website www.prcgov.ph," PRC Chairperson Leonor Tripon-Rosero said in an official announcement.
Doing the rounds from cellphone to cellphone of late are text messages claiming the June 2006 nursing licensure examination has been cancelled because there has been a leakage and that there was just a 43.8 percent passing rate. The text messages further tells the receiver that they will need to pay P900 more as re-examination fee. (BRQ)
