Manny vow to punish Erik By Charles Raymond A. Maxey
IT WILL be a totally different Manny Pacquiao when the Filipino ring sensation squares off with Erik Morales of Mexico for the third time on November 18 in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao has vowed to answer the bell with guns blazing and won't be holding back against Morales, unlike when he did against Oscar Larios when he retained his WBC international super featherweight title last Sunday.
The 27-year-old Pacquiao, in a television interview Monday night, admitted that when he scored that unanimous decision over Larios he was actually trying not to hurt the Mexican challenger as he finds him a gentle foe.
"Nababaitan ako sa kanya (I find him to be a likable person)," Pacquiao said of Larios.
The Filipino boxer noted that there were instances when Larios would smile at him every time the Mexican gets hit with a solid shot.
Even when Larios was floored for the second time late in the 12th round, he flashed a smile towards Pacquiao to acknowledge the shot.
Against Morales, Pacquiao said he will be like a hungry lion out to devour a prey.
"I will let him eat his words," Pacquiao said in Filipino, still enraged over the comments made by Morales last month in the aftermath of his 11th-round TKO defeat at the hands of the Filipino fighter in January.
Morales had said he was not in great shape when Pacquiao beat him and that he was not hurt at all with his rival's punches.
Morales, who took a severe beating in that Las Vegas encounter, promised to bounce back.
Pacquiao said he will be ready and promised to inflict the worst beating to Morales come November 18 and send him into retirement.
