Antipolo clouters crush DLSU nine
THE Antipolo batters humbled the Dabawenyo Edmer del Socorro-led De La Salle University (DLSU) team, 16-6, in the championship match of the 1st POC Olympic Festival Baseball Tournament at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex Tuesday.
The well-attended finals clash saw US Embassy Consul Macho Taylor, Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Peping Cojuangco, Philippine Amateur Baseball Association (Paba) chairman Manny Angeles and president Hector Navasero in attendance.
Aside from del Socorro and Ruel Batuto, both gold medal performers in the 23rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, three more Davao City players saw action in the meet.
Hashem and saxon Omandac and Denver Largo also participated in the event organized as part of the POC sports festival that involved a total of 29 sports.
The festival is in celebration of the World Olympic Day founding anniversary. (MLSA)
