Star of Davao bares finalists
IT'S down to six.
Star of Davao season 3 winds down the last few weeks of competition with Gemalie Mandi, Philip Jordan Ermac, Lycel Millan, Steve Fernandez, Hera Redoblado, and Ritchelle Jayme who will battle it out on the Grand Finals Showdown on August 19 at the Activity Center, NCCC Mall Davao, with Jeremy Sarmiento as musical director.
Before the big day, these promising singers started to perform in selected venues in Davao City starting at Damosa Gateway on July 1. They will perform at KSP on July 8, and on July 30 at Kuyaw!
They will also perform at the NCCC Mall, Tagum City on July 22 with a pre-finals show on August 14 at the Activity Center, NCCC Mall Davao.
Starting July 1, shoppers can get a chance to vote for their favorite singing star via text or in-store votes.
For text votes, each P50 purchase at NCCC Supermarket, NCCC Department Store, Hardwaremaxx, Munccchies, Breadfactory, and B3, a shopper gets a code that may be claimed at the promo redemption booth.
An electronic raffle draw will be held on August 15 where three winners of P10,000 pesos in cash and gift certificates will be given away.
For in-store voting, purchases allows shoppers to get one voting coupon, at NCCC Supermarket and Hardwaremaxx (P50 pesos), NCCC Department Store, Munccchies, Breadfactory (P100 pesos), one cinema ticket or one bowling game at B3. Shoppers fill out the coupon with the finalists' name and their personal information.
Ten winners shall win P5,000 in cash and gift certificates.
Canvassing for both the electronic raffle draw and in-store votes will be on August 15 at 12 noon.
Conceived in 2004, Star of Davao has produced notable Davao singing artists, like Ann Quitoriano, April Mae Borres and Dodong Pasagad (MTV Supahstar finalist).
On its second year, lounge singer and composer, Geofrey Ginete bagged the Grand Prize and also discovered the singing prowess of Maila Manalang and Solomon Bañez.
Now on its third year, it promises to continue with this grand tradition to discover and support Davao's singing stars where the Grand Prize winner gets P100,000, while first and second runners-up receive P50,000 and P20,000, respectively.
