Center for disabled asks for help to rebuild facility By Barbar Carla R. Quiero
A SOCIAL development organization giving free medical and therapy services to physically challenged persons is seeking help to rebuild its rehabilitation center in San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish in Talomo razed by fire last June 30.
Kapansanan ay Akibat sa Kaunlaran ng Bayan (Kaakbay) Rehabilitation Center executive director Michael Velilla is seeking the help of both private and government sectors.
"Kahit used office equipments will do to allow us to continue with our services," Velilla said during the Kapihan sa PIA press conference Friday.
Kaakbay Rehabilitation Center assistant director Renee Belle Lumawag said the fire damaged center's office equipment and facilities worth at least half a million pesos.
Lumawag said they are currently fixing a place they wish to transfer to on Orchid Street in Bangkal but they need funds to do return to normal operations.
"It's still near the old clinic so it's easier for our patients to locate," Lumawag said.
