Davao tankers in Koronadal swimfest
THE 29-member Coastland Davao Swim Team (CDST) will try to sweep its third title in the Regional Swimming Association (RSA) tournament series when the T'nalak Festival Swimming Competition plunges into action on Saturday and Sunday in Koronadal City.
CDST head of delegation and secretary-general Deedee Gonzalez said: "I hope the lean-but-mean team we have will be enough for us to win the over-all title."
But the host city will be up to challenge CDST's bid as it is expected to field entries in all events entered in the two-day, point system swimfest.
There are 144 individual and relay events to be contested in the age-group tournament sanctioned by the Philippine Amateur Swimming Association (Pasa).
CDST will again rely on its bemedaled tankers the likes of Palaro quadruple gold medalist Jose Joaquin Gonzalez, Alyanna Malabanan, Celina Gonzalez and Carlo Rodriguez.
The Sea Lions Swim Team and Dadiangas Torpedoes are also strong forces to reckon with in the competition. (MLSA)
