Shell launches V-Power fuel

SHELL has pulled out the Shell Velocity in the market as it introduced a more advanced kind of fuel that will satisfy all speed lovers.

With Shell's partnership with Ferrari, Shell was able to develop V-Power fuel, a Ferrari-inspired high performance product. It was developed at the Shell Research laboratories in England and Germany.

Shell Fuels Category Management Philippines local implementor Carlos A. Posadas said V-Power, which symbolizes velocity and victory will show that not all fuel is equal.

"Every drop of Shell V-Power is designed to give a powerful thrust of acceleration and sustained performance to any car because Shell is committed to making better fuels everyday, helping you move better so you can have a better driving experience," their press release said.

V-Power does not only give more performance but also protects the car's engine. Jimmi Diago of Shell said V-Power also has cleaning agents that remove deposits created by other fuel in the vehicle engine.

"It gets rid of the deposits thus, improves the performance of the engine and provides it more power," Diago said during the product's formal launching at Royal Mandaya Hotel Monday.

Diago said the fuel has been thoroughly tested. He said they have conducted test-drives that shows how the fuel performs.

Diago said V-Power has an octane rating of 95 and contains a friction control additive that creates a protective film between the vehicle engine's piston and cylinder.

Octane rating represents the "anti-knock" properties of the fuel. The higher the rating, the slower the fuel burns and the less likely the engine will knock.

Posadas said the fuel is priced at P46 a per liter in Davao City, the same with the Shell Velocity before. (BRQ)
