Prosecutor Retrina E. Fuentes recommended the filing of theft charges against Arjhon Ragas, of legal age, resident of Malusing in Sta. Cruz in Davao del Sur, based on the complaint of Hsin Chin Lim, 29, a Taiwanese national, employed at the Davao Fishport in Toril, and a resident of Agnoriver Street, Rivera Village in Bajada, this city.

Lim said he discovered that his cellphone and his U$1,000, which he placed inside his room were already missing morning of May 28, 2005, Lim said he immediately told his uncle about the incident and they checked on all those who was in the house earlier on.

Suspicion pointed to Ragas, a relative of his uncle's wife.

Lim said the father-in-law of his uncle, one Jesus Matias, told him that he saw Ragas, who was their visitor the night before, enter Lim's room.

The father-in-law further told Lim that when Ragas went out of the room, he was holding a cellphone and money bills.

Lim said he then confronted Ragas about the incident who openly admitted that he was the one who took his cellphone and money.

Lim added that he did not bother himself to report the incident to the police since Ragas allegedly promised to return the money and the cellphone.

Ragas did not fulfill his promise despite repeated demands thus the filing of case.

A bail of P22,000 was recommended for Ragas' temporary liberty who could no longer be found in his house. (JGRS)
