Of the 56 ordinances, 22 are with committee reports and 34 presented under suspended rules.

The figures were based on the 2006 Semi-Annual Report on the Performance of the 14th City Council of the city released last July 5.

From January to July, the City Council has conducted a total of 26 sessions, 24 of which are regular sessions and two are special sessions.

The report also states that the councilors have a 94.57 percent attendance, 2.82 percent absent in its council sessions and 2.61 percent Official Business.

According to City Council assistant secretary Margarito C. dela Cruz, the performance of the City Council has improved this year compared to the second half of last year with only 610 passed resolutions and 64 ordinances.

"There are more committee hearings and the reports are fast tracked," dela Cruz said Monday.

Dela Cruz said the City Council is required to hold at least 24 council sessions in six months.
