ICBL-Duterte Cup opens Sept. 09
The much-awaited Inter-Church Basketball League (ICBL) Duterte Cup Fourteenth Conference is set to open on September 09 to November 26, 2006 at the Davao City Recreation Center (formerly Almendras Gym).
Around twenty church-teams have already signified their intention to join the exciting league. But their application is still being processed by the ICBL executive board if they have passed the initial requirements.
The church-teams are allowed to submit a maximum total line-up of fifteen players but must have not joined any commercial (A & B) leagues even collegiate/university leagues nationwide unless they have been Inactive for the last five years; each church-team can reinforced their team line-up with two current/active college/university players.
Former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players Al Solis and Tata Merced are expected to come and grace the opening ceremonies.
Pastor Gary Visitacion, ICBL Director said that "I was in Cebu City recently and I had a meeting with Al Solis & Tata Merced. I personally invited them to come and be our honored guests. They are both excited to come and challenged our young players."

ICBL Mayor's Cup 2006 is a ministry of Philippine Challenge and is sanctioned by the Basketball Association of the Philippines under Regional Director Regino Cua.
