Kadayawan football fest slated August 12

DAVAO City teams will have their hands full as out-of-town squads are out to put up a stiff challenge when the Kadayawan Football Festival kicks off August 12 at the Tionko field.

Organizer Davao Football Association (DFA) said the two-day meet attracted teams from Malita, Davao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, Cotabato City, Compostela Valley, Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro City.

"The seven-A-side tournament aims to promote early development of football and provide for friendly atmosphere among teams in the region," a DFA statement said.

It will have a boys only or girls only eight years old and under, 10-under, 12-under, 14-uner, elementary girls only, ladies open, high school boys and girls and men's open 1 and 2 divisions.

A team is composed of 10 players who are required to bring a photocopy of birth certificate and school ID during the start of the meet.
