Comedy-fantasy movies at Gaisano Mall cinemas
TWO comedy-fantasy films lead the new set of movie releases this week at the cinemas of Gaisano Mall of Davao.
Competing are Click and Lucky You, both targeting the same crowd.
Also opening are the Australian top-grossing horror flick Wolf creek and Bollywood's drama-thriller Murder.
Getting another week of extension are horror flicks Sukob (in its third week) and An American Haunting (second week).

The Adam Sandler's latest flick already earned $132 million in its US release alone (good enough for its $70 million budget) and ranked 9th place as 2006's top-grossing movie so far. With that blockbuster figure, there are lot of people who enjoyed it, because they've enjoyed previous Sandler films, and this is in that same vein.
This is the third collaboration between director Frank Coraci and his school friend Sandler following The Wedding Singer and The Waterboy.
Sandler plays Michael Newman whose long hours at the architectural firm run by his unsympathetic boss (David Hasselhoff) have driven him to a near breakdown and put a strain on family life with his wife Donna (Kate Beckinsale) and two young kids.
One night, when trying to watch TV, but thwarted by the dizzying array of remote control devices, he cries out for one remote that would control everything.
His wish is fulfilled during a trip to the local branch of Bed, Bath & Beyond where, behind a door intriguingly labeled 'Way Beyond' he encounters the enigmatic Morty (Christopher Walken).
A singing, dancing mad-scientist type, Morty hands Michael a universal remote control that, he explains, will remotely control his universe.
Just My Luck
Lindsay Lohan again put her charm in this sweet romantic comedy.
Ashley Albright (Lohan) has been lucky all of her life. Whether it's avoiding the rain, getting an elevator all to herself or meeting some handsome guy, things always seem to go her way, much to the amazement of her friends Maggie (Samaire Armstrong) and Dana (Bree Turner). They all work for Peggy Braden (Missu Pyle) at her PR firm, where lady luck visits Ashley once again.
Music mogul Damon Phillips (Faizon Love) and his entourage have arrived for a meeting with Peggy, but when she and everyone else ends up stuck in the elevator, Ashley takes it upon herself to pitch an idea to him. He loves it, Peggy is impressed, and soon Ashley is planning a swanky party, and even asking her handsome neighbor Antonio (Carlos Ponce) to be Peggy's blind date.
If only things went so smoothly for Jake Hardin (Chris Pine). A bowling alley employee who spends time with his fourth grader cousin Katy (Makenzie Vega) when not serving as the audio mixer and manager for the British band McFly, he's been trying to get a demo into Damon's hands. But, being the unlucky sort, he doesn't have a chance. That is, until he inadvertently crashes Ashley's masquerade party as one of the hired dancers and tries to meet Damon.
Wolf Creek
If most recent horror flicks seem a bit bloodless to you, then make haste to Wolf Creek, a genuinely intriguing Aussie shocker that finds three young travelers at the mercy of a psycho.
It's 1999 and British college friends Liz Hunter (Cassandra Magrath) and Kristy Earl (Kestie Morassi) are vacationing in Broome, Western Australia. Done with partying and sunning themselves along the coast, they hook up with local Aussie Ben Mitchell (Nathan Phillips) and drive inland to the remote and desolate Wolf Creek National Park where they hike into an enormous and ancient meteorite crater.
The three are laidback and enjoy each other's company, but things take a turn for their worse when they return to their car only to find that it won't start. As night falls, they wonder what to do, but just then a car approaches. It's local hunter Mick Taylor (John Jarratt) who diagnoses their problem and offers to fix their car.
Murder
Murder is a Hindi remake of Unfaithful, the Hollywood hit, which earned its lead actress Diane Lane an Oscar nomination. In India, Murder won awards for two different bodies.
Like the American flick, Murder cashed in on some really hot sex scenes and set the cash registers on fire, making it the first universal hit of the year in India.
Murder is well shot with taut direction (Anurag Basu) and good performances by the three lead actors. As far as Hindi films go, it's pushing the envelope with some bold sex scenes, but it's worth a watch.
Simran (a sexy and confident Mallika Sherawat) is in an unhappy marriage to Sudhir (Ashmit Patel). They have a young son Kabir and live in Bangkok. Sudhir is always busy with work and irritated when around his wife, which constantly makes Simran feels isolated.
One rainy day she runs into an ex-flame Sunny (Emraan Hashmi) who also lives in Bangkok and works professionally as a disc jockey at a club. Soon we learn that Sunny and Simran shared a passionate relationship in college and it led to Sunny going to jail over Simran.
Now re-united, Simran begins to have an affair with Sunny as the unhappiness in her own marriage continues to increase. But the affair is going too far, even for Simran, who begins to feel guilty over it, however this doesn't change the outcome, which is ultimately due to Sunny's aggressiveness and the outcome of the film, which is resonated in its title.
