Power firm not sure of filing raps v. against Coast Guard By Ben O. Tesiorna
THE Davao Light and Power Corporation (DLPC) is not yet certain if they will pursue charges against the Philippine Coast Guard for alleged power pilferage.
DLPC corporate communications officer Ross Luga said their legal department is still reviewing the merits of the case.
He said nothing is certain yet if charges will be filed against the Coast Guard or go for an amicable settlement.
Luga clarified that there was no power pilferage since the power used by Coast Guard office at the Sta. Ana wharf still passed through the meter and was recorded.
"What happened is that the Coast Guard restored their power supply without applying for reconnection at our office. But, there was no power pilferage since their consumption went through our meters," Luga said.
The Philippine Coast Guard office based in Sta. Ana Pier was found to have illegally reconnected its power line Tuesday afternoon. It has not settled its unpaid accumulated power bills of around P40,000.
