Ledesma: Poker By Jun Ledesma Sunbursts
REPRESENTATIVE Peter Cayetano talks a lot and his wagging tongue will likely bring him a lot of troubles aside from the media mileage that he gets.
His latest expose on the alleged multi-million-dollar deposit of the first family in a German bank is interesting to watch. The Arroyos has flatly denied the allegation.
Peter dared First Gentleman Mike Arroyo to forfeit the $ deposit and in turn committed his family fortune (equal to the $500-million in the alleged German bank) in favor of the first family if his allegations are not true.
The first gentleman is not asking much. Just a 100-million dollar from Cayetano, which he said he wants to be forfeited in favor of the state, in addition to a public apology. Peter is not inclined to apologize, as he has nothing to apologize for.
In short, we expect the filing of a criminal libel suit since the congressman made his repeated denunciation in an interview with ANC outside of the congressional hall. Expect also a multi-million-peso civil suit.
Assuming that the denial of FG Mike Arroyo is true the Cayetano family will have to pool their resources to bail out Peter.
It's a poker game that the two played. Peter dictated the ante. To start with, he terrorizes the first family with seven boxes of evidence, which to my surprise, need the nod of the Committee on Justice to open.
The opposition had been about town washing the dirty linens of Malacañang so what's keeping them from opening those boxes of evidence this time? C'mon, let's forego with all these propaganda stunts.
One Chiz Escudero is enough. Although he seemed to have lost steam of late. Why don't you cart out those deluge of evidence and bring them to ABS-CBN studios and let's see what's in it that would prove the Arroyos have $500-million dollars in the German bank.
Why indulge in propaganda economics by feeding us is serial fashion what you can do in an hour? Show us the bank documents, which you said are foolproof.
On the other hand we expect first gentleman Mike to bring the case to court so that this issue can be very-well ventilated. If he has the wild card then let's see what you got.
The difference between the case of Jinggoy Estrada and that of Peter Cayetano is that the senator made his charges in the senate hall where he enjoys the mantle of protection from any suit.
That's why the judge in Jinggoy's case is certain to get a flak not only from the Senate but from the High Court. Peter is brave to have aired his charges in public while Jinggoy is a different story altogether and I will not delve on the obvious. Peter is a poker player while Jinggoy is into a more simplistic game of pierde gana.
