Wadab spills DCWD nine
WADAB Advertising Agency spilled the Davao City Water District, 6-1, for its second victory in the 2006 Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte-Kadayawan Sports Festival softball tournament held over the weekend at the UM-Matina diamond.
James Umemura scored on a double play for Wadab and after that his teammates Julius Martinet, Rommel Lorenzana, Elmer and Edwin Suelan, Jogge Madaje, Abloy Napoli ignited the rally.
In the other games, Rodgie Emeliano hit a homerun to give the Tagum Blu Boys a 2-1 triumph over Panabo City, while the University of Mindanao bounced back with a 13-7 victory over Rizal Memorial Colleges.
Lino Bagares struck out five batters and Edmer del Socorro, Cesar Japos, Jake Barrosa, Mario Arroyo completed their runs to secure the win for the Joaquin "Boy" Sarabia-mentored UM nine.
Games will resume on Sunday, according to tournament director Eric Diao.
The event is part of the RRD-Kadayawan sa Dabaw Sports Festival organized by the City Government of Davao through the Sports Development Division under sports coordinator Christopher "Bong" Go.
