National table tennis tournament blasts off at Smashville Center

THE National Table Tennis Tournament gets underway August 26 and 27 at the Smashville Fitness Center in Davao City.

Dr. Louie Metran of the organizing Metro Davao Table Tennis Association (Medatta) said the two-day event will have teams and mixed singles category.

Davao City paddlers are listed as the favorites, with stiff competition coming from General Santos City, Manila, Cebu and Bacolod.

Zamboanga City is also seeing action in the tournament supported by the City Government of Davao and the Philippine Sports Commission.

Metran said the Zamboanga teams have, in fact, arrived in the city already. (CRAM)
