Tonight will be the wildcard competition for the final 4 (2 female and 2 male contestants).

Your votes would mean Ting would land a secure spot in the final 12 bringing with her Davao's pride. Text TING to 2339 on Saturday from 11 p.m. (upon Ryan Agoncillo's cue) and will end on Sunday, 8:30 p.m.

The result will be announced Sunday.

Who is Ting Otero?

On Sept. 9, after her amazing and better-than-ever performance, right after judge Francis Magalona said that she should sign a contract right then and there, judge Pilita "Mamita" Corrales asked if she was Bisaya, Ting, still breathless from singing, energetically answered, "Korek, Maam, from Matina, Davao City!"

And then Mamita added how Bisayans are truly talented, just like her.

Indeed, a Dabawenya is making a noise, a buzz in the field of singing, putting Davao in another nationwide spot of excellence.

Ting hails from Matina Davao City and is a medical representative by profession. She graduated from the University of the Philippines in Mindanao.

She has been singing ever since she could remember. From leading the National Anthem in grade school to belting current hits and hits of her favorite singers in college, and even afterwards. She never had professional voice lessons, so it is pure, raw talent that courses through her veins.

Other than holding a microphone and singing her soul out, she's also fond of dancing. She was a model student who can juggle studies, extra-curricular activities, organizations, sorority and even kicking balls, as she belonged to the UP Min Ladies' Soccer Team.

Normally, she's just talking her tonsils out. No, she doesn't have any lucky charms but she has her parents as the heroes she looks up to. She has her friends who believe in her and her talent. She made it to the top 24. And who knows, she can be the first ever Philippine Idol! She can be Davao's next top star, if given a chance. Star material.
