Man sued for rape of 13-year-old
A MAN is facing multiple charges after he was accused of sexually molesting a 13-year-old girl in Matina Aplaya, Davao City in May this year.
Chief Prosecutor Raul B. Bendigo forwarded to the Regional Trial Court (RTC) the filing of three counts of rape charges against Lorenzo Verena, of legal age, and resident of Matina Aplaya based on the penned resolution of Prosecutor Nanette G. Lemana.
Rochyl (not her real name) filed the complaint against Verena, who remains at large.
In her sworn statement, Rochyl claimed the first incident happened at around 6 p.m. on May 1 while she was at her friend's house, located just a few meters away from their house. She said the respondent, whom they call "Jay-ar", was also there.
Rochyl said Jay-ar gave her a glass of soft drink, but after drinking it, she claimed she felt dizzy and sleepy. Her friend, she said, told her to rest inside her (friend's) room.
Rochyl said she was awakened when she noticed that Jay-ar was on top of her kissing her body. She said she tried to push Jay-ar away but failed.
The accused, Rochyl claimed, succeeded in raping her.
Rochyl said she went home the following day, but did not tell her parents about the incident.
On May 3, Rochyl said she was alone inside her room when Jay-ar appeared and threatened her with a knife.
She said Jay-ar undressed her and abused her again.
Two days after the incident, Rochyl was allegedly standing outside their house when she noticed Jay-ar waving his hand, ordering her to proceed to her friend's house.
When she failed and turned her back to go inside their house, Jay-ar allegedly approached her and dragged her towards her friend's house where she was raped again.
Rochyl finally told her aunt about the incidents when she went home. She and her aunt then went to the Talomo police precinct and reported the incidents.
Meanwhile, the respondent could no longer be found in his house. (JGRS)
