A GROUP of Muslim youth wants to have a Science and Technology College in the country that will primarily cater to the Muslim youth.
World Assembly of Muslim Youth (Wamy) Philippines country director Salih D. Musa, in an interview Thursday, said since the country does not have an existing Science and Technology College for the Muslim youth, they will establish the said school within five years.
It will equip Muslim youth with knowledge in science and develop their skillfulness that will contribute in improving technology in the country.
Musa said they will get financial support from the government and other countries to establish the college, since Wamy exists in several countries that includes Australia and the United States.
"Ilalagay siya either sa General Santos or sa Davao City," Musa said, adding that they are still currently conducting a feasibility study on the project.
Musa, however, said at the meantime, their priority program is providing alternative education for the Muslim youth.
"I-propromote ng Wamy ang vocational and technical programs para magkaroon sila ng skill trainings," Musa said.
Wamy is a domestic non-government, non-stock, non-profit organization in the country. It aims to develop, God-fearing and law-abiding youth that will lead peace building and inspire community service. (BRQ)
