Mutya Joey will be present also as muse of the Rotary Club of East Davao, last year's champions and hosts of this year's tournament, from Sept. 17 to Oct. 1. However, the mutya will not be competing with the other club muses, according to Assistant District Governor and RCED past president Riz Reyes, tournament overall chairman.

Reyes said a total of 20 Rotary clubs in Davao City and Davao del Sur have signed up for the annual bowlfest.

They are the Rotary clubs of Davao led by President Arnold Navales, East Davao under Virgilio Sojor, South Davao (Welking Ma), Digos (Rito Cagas), West Davao (Dodong Robillo), Toril Davao (Bong Defensor), Central Davao (Manny Sipaco), Bansalan (Jun Almasag), North Cotabato (Richard Avisado), Sta. Ana Davao (Remese Tancontian), Metro Davao (Fred Mendiola), Matina Davao (Odi Go), Durian City (Pacing Pascual), Waling-waling (Fe Boiser), Downtown Davao (Ichi Vicente), Davao Gulf (Tinoi Ravelo), Pag-asa Davao (Dav Quilantang), Davao 2000 (Dennis Nazaire), South Digos (Erwin Llanos), Calinan Davao (Doming Videna), and Urban Davao (Gigie Agtay).

At least four tiny clubs will merge to form two teams, AG Reyes bared.

To allow more participation, Reyes said the bowlfest this year will include tournaments in Killers (single knock-out system) dart and 9-ball billiards (doubles).

Governor Jun Almeda of Rotary International District 3860 will grace the opening and deliver a message during the program. Director Jun Tan of the host club will deliver the invocation and lead the singing of the Pambansang Awit. Past president Bernie Guirgen will usher in the participating teams, AG Reyes will deliver the welcome address and President Sojor the oath of sportsmanship, while all the club presidents will roll the ceremonial balls.

During the opening, awards will be given to the club adjudged to have the best in uniform, while the Miss Rotary will be chosen among the club muses.
