GSC cagers maul Zambo
GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- Host Los Hermanos de Heneral Santos served early notice on its serious bid to reclaim its basketball crown in the 40-above division when it hammered Caballeros de Zamboanga, 96-49, at the start of the 29th Philippine Airlines Intersports at the city gym.
The walk-in-the-park triumph gave Los Hermanos the needed morale-booster as they head into an expected grudge rematch against defending champion Los Jefes de Cebu in today's first game at 7 am.
Last year in Iloilo, the Chester Cokaliong-skippered Los Jefes dethroned Los Hermanos to wrest the 40-above cage title via a five-game sweep.
But with their 47-point rout of the highly regarded Caballeros, a perennial power in Intersports hoops, Los Hermanos sent a clear message that they are poised to regain basketball supremacy right in their backyard.
