3 erring inspectors yet to be identified
By Barbara Carla R. Quiero

THE City Hall is still trying to establish the identity of the three city building inspectors accused of asking for free snacks from a business establishment while on duty.

City Administrator Wendel E. Avisado Monday said they are still trying to identify who these employees since they were not named in the complaint.

Avisado said he already discussed the matter with City Engineer's Office head Leoncio B. Evasco.

He said the investigation couldn't move forward without the identity of the three employees.

Avisado renewed his call for the complainant to help the City Government by naming the three employees.

He, however, assured the complainant that they will protect his or her identity.

"The complainant should tell us who are those involved," Avisado said.

A complaint was sent to the City Hall through e-mail Friday about the three city building inspectors who allegedly asked for free snacks from a food establishment on Cabaguio Avenue last September 7.

Assistant City Administrator Erwin P. Alparaque said if proven that the three inspectors are guilty, they could face penalties under the local government code. They could be reprimanded that could also lead to suspension or dismissal.

According to Avisado, the act is tantamount to extortion.
