Lakas seeks exec's help to solve Tagum council row

THE local chapter of the Lakas-CMD is passing the buck to their regional chapter to look into the controversy brought about by the appointment of their member to the Tagum City council.

Victorio "Baby" Suaybaguio, Lakas-CMD Tagum chapter president, said they are leaving it up to their regional chair -- Secretary Rodolfo del Rosario -- to resolve the controversy and bring it up to the national level.

"Since we normally see Secretary del Rosario and Vice President Nograles in Manila. They could easily the problem there," Suaybaguio said in a telephone interview Wednesday.

Lakas vice president for Mindanao Prospero Nograles earlier said local Lakas leaders must be the one to initiate and bring the matter to the national leadership of Lakas for immediate arbitration.

"We need to get accurate facts first then we decide," Nograles said.

Davao del Norte Governor Gelacio Gementiza appointed Lani Maug to the vacant post in the City Council.

Rajah Acas Jaime "Jimmy" Maug opposed Lani's appointment, claiming her appointment is void and illegal.

Unconfirmed reports reaching Sun.Star showed that Jimmy is planning to file administrative complaint against Gementiza for appointing Lani to the post. (BOT)
