River of God triumphs

TITLE-contender River of God Church nipped Grace Baptist Chuch A, 93-83, in the Inter-Church Basketball League Duterte Cup Fourteenth Conference Sunday at the Davao City Recreation Center.

The Pastor Blair Cuares-managed River Of God Church played with so much determination as it entered the winning column over Grace Baptist Church.

The River Of God dribblers lost heir first two games before bouncing back on the heroes of Michael Puerto, who topscored with 33 points.

Gneil Santos topscored for GBC-A with 27 points. River Of God led by 8 points at the first canto.

In the second game, sister team Grace Baptist Church Team B continued its winning streak over a no-show again by newcomer The Jesus Christ of Nazareth Baptist Church.

The latter suffered its second default, which automatically disqualifies them in the league.

ICBL games will resume on September 30 at the Bankerohan gym.

Grace Baptist Church Team B plays newcomer TJC Good Shepherd at 8 a.m., followed by the TOPCF-B & Beatitudes-B encounter at 9:30 am.

Elojem will face Beatitudes-A in the final match at 11 a.m.

ICBL Duterte Cup 2006 is a ministry of Philippine Challenge, Inc. and is sanctioned by the Basketball Association of the Philippines under Regional Director Regino "Boy" Cua.
