2 more stabbed dead by bike-riding men
By Rex C. Otero

THE daily killings continue, and last Tuesday the killers netted two in different places -- an adult and a boy.

The gunmen on motorcycles of the early 2000s are no more. It's the men with knives this time, but still on motorcycles.

First killed was Daniel "Tata" Tapurok, 30, married, a resident of St. John Bucana in Barangay 76-A.

Investigation by the San Pedro Police Precinct placed the incident at around 3:30 p.m. while Tapurok was buying rice from Paul Store in their neighborhood.

Witnesses said two men on a motorcycle arrived and the motorcycle passenger stabbed Tapurok on the left portion of his back.

Tapurok was still brought by neighbors to the Davao Medical Center but he was already dead by then.

Witnesses described his killers as men in black shirts who were wearing caps and riding a red motorcycle.

A similar fate was met by 16-year-old Maurice Marimon, a resident of Mini-Forest in Barangay 23-C.

Marimon was just playing basketball with friends at the corner of Juan Luna Street and Quezon Boulevard at around 5 p.m. when five persons approached, two of whom stabbed Marimon while the other three served as lookouts.

Marimon still made it to the Davao Medical Center but died at around 5:45 p.m. from stab wounds in the chest and back.

Marimon's cousin said the killers were riding a motorcycle.

Not one killer in the daily killings by motorcycle-riding men armed with knives has yet been identified by the police.
