House seeks abolition of three land agencies
THE House of Representative is planning to abolish three government agencies involved in land registration and create just one agency.
House Bill 4846 or the Land Administration Reform Act is seeking to abolish the Bureau of Land, Land Registration Authority and the National Mapping, and Resource Information Authority and create just one land administration agency.
House Committee on Housing and Urban Development chair Eduardo Zialcita said the Philippines has "the most complex land titling system in the world today."
Zialcita said with the creation of the National Land Administration Authority, land titling will be much faster and easier.
The bill seeks to reform the existing land administration and management system in the country by consolidating and streamlining within a single government agency the land administration powers and functions currently assigned to the three agencies. (BOT)
