Taekwondo action is back

THE Nutrilin Age-Group Taekwondo Championships will kick off Oct. 8 at the Entertainment Plaza of SM-City Davao.

Spokesperson Darren Evangelista, guesting at yesterday's regular Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn, said the one-day event is being sanctioned by the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) 11 under its director Johnny Kim.

Evangelista said around 130 participants fro all over the region have registered for the competition, which will have the children's, juniors and seniors categories.

Some of the participants will come from Mati, Davao Oriental and Tagum City, according to Evangelista.

Trophies, medals and Nutrilin vitamins are up for grabs in the tournament.

"We expect more participants to sign up. This is a big day for the sport of taekwondo," Evangelista said.
