Durian Kulinarya in Tagum City By Marissa S. Te Eng Fo
ONE of the places in the region I really admire is Tagum City.
This is a booming town and quite active in activities, from hosting different kinds of festivities, educational advancement, cultural aspects, and infrastructure to musikahan.
Thanks to the ever-supportive first lady Alma Uy. The lady is amiable, intelligent (just finished her masters degree) and wonderful mother to her children and loving wife to Mayor Uy.
If I were to describe the tourism chair of the region, I will run out of superlatives. My hats off!
Recently, Mrs. Uy, with the committee on culinary events hosted a Durian Culinary Competition in Tagum.
Judges from Davao City (well known in the field of baking Lina Singson and academician Dr. Laura Cespon) went to join the group of other judges.
A huge durian was quite the focus of the event as local bakers and students joined the competition (Aces Tagum, UM Tagum, MATS, Gabriel Taborin Technical School, Academia de Davao). Congratulations to all.
