ComVal killings continue

KILLINGS characterized by men spraying bullets from high-powered guns on their prey continue in Compostela Valley, as reports named three more men gunned down last week.

The victims were identified as Florante Bukid, 35; Bobby Pagandahan, 21; and Arnel Claveria, 25, all residents of Mawab.

Police report showed that the incident transpired at Purok 1, Barangay Malinawon around 9:45 p.m. of October 5.

The victims were at barangay's basketball court when about seven armed men suddenly arrived and opened fire on the victims.

The suspects were said to be armed with M14 and M16 rifles.

The victims sustained several gunshot wounds in the body causing their instantaneous death.

Investigators recovered four empty shells from the crime scene.

On October 6, Barangay kagawad Gerardo "Gerry" Cajes, a barangay official of Monkayo, Compostela Valley, was nearly killed by armed men.
