Policeman charged for abusing wife
THE City Prosecutor's Office charged a Davao City-based policeman for abusing his wife in their house in Tugbok, this city.
Prosecutor Emilio Dayanghirang III recommended the filing of charges against Robert (true name withheld) for violation of Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act based on the complaint filed by his wife Gina.
In her affidavit, Gina claimed her husband physically and emotionally abused her from March 2005 to January this year.
She said her husband, whom she described as a womanizer, was obsessively jealous and accused her of having extra-marital affairs, causing their children's trauma.
Gina said she suffered psychologically and was even confined at the Psychiatry department of the Davao Medical Center for posttraumatic stress disorder.
A bond of P24,000 was recommended for his temporary liberty. (RMH)
