Suspended mayor assures smooth turnover to vice
By Ben O. Tesiorna

A SMOOTH turnover in the mayoralty post in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental is assured after Mayor Jerry dela Cerna was ordered suspended by the Ombudsman for 90 days.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) was supposed to serve the suspension order Monday but implementation was moved Tuesday to ensure that there would be no resistance from dela Cerna's group.

In a telephone interview Monday afternoon, Mayor dela Cerna however said he will abide by whatever the final decision will be.

But, he said, he still has the option of asking for a review on the Ombudsman decision before the Supreme Court.
