Descallar bags title
DENNIS Descallar bagged the class A title after hitting 230 pinfalls in the Sunday Bowlers Club weekly tournament at the Fairlanes Bowling Center Sunday night.
He beat Jimmy Sia and Plutie Banlasan who scored 226 and 212, respectively. Sia settled for the runner-up honors while Banlasan finished third.
King Gonzaga, Bernard Alcoriza and Che-Che Payca also shared the limelight in the bowlfest that gave away cash prizes to the champions.
Gonzaga rolled 231 pins enroute to capturing the class B crown over Tony Erno who made 220 pinfalls.
The latter placed second while Rikko Alvarez took the third spot with 209.
Alcoriza, who struck for 194 pinfalls, bested Joseph Tumandao (194) and Pete Quiroz (186) in class C.
Payca took home the ladies crown by beating Naty Amorillo, 191-177, in their titular showdown.
The SBC Bowler of the Week tournament will resume on Sunday where the champions will advance to the monthly finals. (MLSA)
