Why worry when God knows you?
By Tim R. Alanib
Ambrosia for the young

JOHN Edmund Haggai said that worry is a word, which comes from the Greek word "to divide the mind." Worry divided the mind between worthwhile interests and damaging thoughts. The Apostle James states the unhappy condition of the person with the divided mind; "A double-minded mind is unstable in all his ways." (James 1:8). Worry is the cause of heartbreak, failure, misunderstanding, suspicion and most unhappiness.

Don't worry over anything whatever; tell God every detail of your needs in earnest and thankful prayer, and the peace of God, which transcends human understanding, will keep constant guard over your hearts and minds as they rest in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6, J.B. Philipps Version).

Why worry when God knows you?

* God knows all. There is nothing that can be hid from God; everything in all creation is exposed and lies open before his eyes. And it is to him that we must all give an account of ourselves. (Hebrews 4:13).

* He knows your needs. "So don't start worrying: 'Where will my food come from? Or my drink? Or my clothes?'... Your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things. Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things." (Matthew 6:31-33).

* He knows your heart. Happy are the pure in heart; they will see God. (Matthew 5:8)

* He knows your cries. You know how troubled I am; you have kept a record of my tears. Aren't they listed in your book? (Psalm 56:8)

* He knows your deeds. I will repay each of you according to what you have done. (Revelations 2:23).

* He knows your desires. He supplies the needs of those hear him; he hears their cries and saves them. (Psalm 145:19).

* He knows your future. I alone know the plans I have for you. Plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Reading friend, why worry when God knows you and me?

Worry is faithless. Many Christians are more prone to worry faithlessly about their problems, then to trust God to solve them. We trust God for the stupendously important matter of our salvation, and then are strangely timid about trusting Him for our other infinitely less important concerns.

Trust and worry cannot sleep in one bed. They are mutually antagonistic. The one negates the other. Worry is faithless. (J. Oswald Sanders)

An article of Milton Berle reads:

Life is very simple. The first thing to remember about life is - don't worry about it. Really, there are only two things to worry about; either you are successful or you are not successful. If you are successful, there is nothing to worry about. If you are not successful, there are only two things to worry about. Your health is good or you are sick if your health is good, there's nothing to worry about. If your health is bad, there are only two things to worry about: either you are going to live or you're not going to live. If you live, there's nothing to worry about, and if you don't live, you have only two things to worry about. Either you're going to heaven or you're not going to heaven. If you're going to heaven, there's nothing to worry about, and if you go to the other place, you'll be so busy shaking hands with all your old friends, you won't have time to worry.

Said the robin to the sparrow, "I really do not know why it is these human beings rush about and worry so." Said the sparrow to the robin, "I think that it must be that they have no Heavenly Father, such as cares for you and me."
