Group releases traders' sons
THE two children of Cotabato businessmen, who were kidnapped Monday night, were released by their captors Friday.
Information gathered by Sun.Star SuperBalita showed that the two were freed by suspected members of the Pentagon kidnap-for-ransom group after learning that the victims' parents are only small-time traders.
The victims were identified as Jeff Anthony, 18, and Saydamin Angeles, 19, residents of Sinsuat Avenue Cotabato City.
No ransom was paid for the victim's release.
The two were reportedly with friends at the plaza on Monday night when three men armed with caliber .45 pistols forcibly took them and sped away in a red pick-up truck.
The victims were released at around 4 p.m. in the area border of Cotabato City and Kabuntalan, Maguindanao Province.
The police are still conducting hot pursuit operation against the suspects. (RCO)For more Philippine news, visit Sun.Star General Santos. (November 12, 2006 issue) Write letter to the editor. Click here. Join the Sun.Star message board. Click here. |
