NCCC employees celebrate Halloween
By Jojie Alcantara

DESPITE busy operations, NCCC still lives by the NCCC value of fun by simply celebrating the special seasons in unique ways.

In one of my hectic shopping sprees for example, I observed how they celebrated Halloween within the department store and the supermarket.

According to NCCC Supermarket president Jayvee Lim, "Yearly, we hold a costume party for our associates and promo/merchandisers where they can be as creative and come to work looking as creepy and creative as they can. Each year, associates never fail to entertain, or even scare us and our customers."

True enough, a "headless" zombie was walking around the grocery section carrying its head by the hand, while assisting shoppers.

Witches are counting your cash at the counter while vampires and monsters bag your items in the true spirit of Halloween.

Meanwhile, as I went upstairs to buy costumes for my dogs, a different fantasy world awaited me.

Harry Potter and a fairy were at the shirt department, while a spectacular Merman stares at me from the shoe department. Try to go to the children's section and you will be welcomed by elves and sprites and maybe Snow White.

Everywhere you go, staff in different costumes waited on you with beaming smiles. I heard every department has a character representative to vie for the best in costume for this in-house competition.

Kudos to the NCCC management for this fun concept. It actually was effective in making me enjoy my shopping at a leisurely pace! Let's see what Christmas will bring, shall we?
