Police group chief to head special operations team

THE commander of Task Force Davao, Colonel Eduardo del Rosario, will reportedly be promoted and transferred to the Philippine Army General Headquarters anytime soon.

But instead of rejoicing, militant leaders in the city are not happy with del Rosario's transfer saying he will just be doing the same "atrocities" wherever he may go.

Omar Bantayan of the Kilusang Mayo Uno was among those not happy with del Rosario's transfer and promotion.

"It doesn't make a difference. He will just be replaced with some other fascist who is essentially just like him. In the perspective of the military, he ought to be and is worthy of a promotion since he has served a fascist cause well," Bantayan said.

Reports said del Rosario will be promoted to brigadier general and will head the Joint Special Operations Group of the Philippine Army.

Del Rosario however said this is not yet a done deal.

Asked if he would prefer staying in Task Force Davao, del Rosario said as a good soldier he has no choice but to follow orders from his superiors.

The colonel said it's about time that he tries other fields as he had been with Task Force Davao for two years and four months now.

"Thank you very much for working with me," del Rosario said when asked for a message to his detractors. (BOT)
