Rajo's touch at House of Laurel
By Nelson C. Bagaforo

EVERY young bride and debutante wants a Rajo Laurel touch -- the fact that he has already dressed the country's who's who and arguably one of the most sought-after among today's young breed of designers.

With a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, including specialty courses in Central St. Martins in London, Rajo has perfected his craft and defied the boundaries of fashion.

But he is most popular because of his talent in creating timeless designs -- casual to formal -- that appeal to girls and to women of all ages.

His highly creative yet very wearable designs and his innovative marketing skills have catapulted him to the top of the Philippine fashion industry hierarchy.

For Dabawenyas out there, there's no need for you to travel all the way to the Big City just to don the fabulous collections of this young designer, who already carved a niche in his chosen field.

On November 11, Rajo formally opened his very own "House of Laurel" at the Ground Floor of Chimes on Sales Street, Davao City. The store houses his very own ready-to-wear creations.

"We brought here out top-selling collections," Rajo said, as he remains bullish on Davao's fashion industry.

Davao City, in fact, is one of the favorite places he has gone to.

At the opening of "House of Laurel," Dabawenyas were made to wear his top-selling collections, every detail of which he thoroughly explained.

"My staff here is trained to show how to properly wear these creations," he said. Rajo also showcased his designs for children and holiday collections, all these are now available in his store.
