Still no wedding bells for Nyoy
By Ana Felicia Dulay

THE prince of acoustic, Nyoy Volante, serenaded SM Shoppers at the Entertainment Plaza Saturday during his mall tour at SM City Davao.

Nyoy was in town to promote his latest album, "NYOY VOLANTE, Now hear this" under Vicor Records which feature the songs Ha?, Nandito Lang (Hanggang Kailan), Kundiman and Ama Namin to name a few.

Nyoy says the carrier single, Ha? is dedicated to the love of his life, Nina. "Kasi the line goes, 'Akin ka na lang, ha?" he clarifies in an interview before the show.

The album has 11 cuts and all written by Nyoy, except Ama Namin. He is enthusiastic about his relationship with girlfriend Nina, though he says they do not have plans of tying the knot in the near future.

"Napag-uusapan namin yung kasal, pero pahapyaw lang. Pero wala pa talaga. Pareho kasi kaming naka-tutok sa career," he says. "Marami din kasi siyang mga dapat tapusin."

Nyoy says their relationship is doing fine as they both want the same things. "Pareho kami ng interests.

Being an artist, she knows my needs and understands them. Pareho kaming lover ng gadgets," he said. But it goes without saying that the couple shares the same passion: music.

Nyoy says he likes listening to classic love songs, and as of the moment, Daniel Porter and Corin Ray. He says he would love to do a collaboration with international artists like Boys 2 Men and Dave Matthews. "Dito sa local, halos lahat ng mga gusto kong magkatrabaho, nakatrabaho ko na, like Gary V., Regine Velasquez, Aiza Seguerra, Rivermaya and of course Nina," he said.
