Public school teacher shot by bike-riding assassins

A PUBLIC school teacher is reportedly in a critical condition after he was shot by armed men onboard a motorcycle in Sulop, Davao del Sur on Monday.

Police identified the victim as Ritchie Yap, a teacher at the Luparan Elementary School in Barangay Luparan, Sulop.

According to initial investigation conducted by the Sulop municipal police office, the incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. while the victim was driving his red Yamaha Krypton motorcycle in Barangay Luparan.

Upon reaching the vicinity of Talas Elementary School in Sulop, two unidentified men onboard a motorcycle shot at him three times.

Yap fell to he ground and the assassins, believing he was already dead, fled.

Three empty shells of a caliber .45 gun was found by authorities.

The victim was brought to an undisclosed hospital and is still in critical condition.

Authorities have yet to identify the suspects while further investigations are ongoing to determine the motive for the crime. (NC)
