Saturday, November 25, 2006 Governor lauds MinBC's bold move
IN RESPONSE to recent developments involving the Mindanao Business Council's (MinBC) total separation from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Zamboanga del Norte Governor Rolando E. Yebes, chair of the Regional Development Council 9, expressed his full understanding of the action taken by MinBC.
"Rest assured that the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte will continue to support the Mindanao Business Council, Inc. and its activities geared towards harnessing business opportunities and spurring economic growth in Mindanao," Yebes said.
The governor also guaranteed MinBC that they will be rendering their support to any MinBC programs and activities that would require their participation and assistance.
Yebes support was welcomed by MinBC chair Romeo J. Serra.
"We are elated by such genuine support coming from a local government official here in Mindanao. Governor Yebes's support to our very own business organization in Mindanao speaks loudly of his high respect for our decision of charting our own direction without the unnecessary interference by people from the national capital," Serra said.
