Apo course ready for Durian Tee

THE scenic Apo Golf and Country Club, with the majestic Mt. Apo serving as a perfect backdrop, is in great shape and ready for the 17th Durian Tee Golf Tournament, which tees off from November 30 to Dec 3.

Martin Misa, the club's manager, said golfers seeing action in the event will have a taste of a great course whose tricky and tree-laden layout make it a shotmakers' haven in this part of the country.

Misa said they are expecting hundreds of golfers from all over the country to participate in the prestigious event, the biggest annual golfing tournament in Davao City.

Players from Manila, Cebu, Bacolod, Tacloban, Cebu, and General Santos cities have confirmed their participation in the 36-hole team and individual competition that uses the Stableford System of scoring.

Around 450 golfers will see action this year, according to Misa.

Hole-in-one prizes are a Mitsubishi Strada by Kar Asia Inc., P500,000 cash by JLBP Services Corp. and H2Zero Distilled Drinking Water, Yamaha Golf Cart by Kart Plaza and Honda Wave by Honda Megamotors.

Tournament director is Orlando Cachuela. (CRAM)
