Councilor Peter Laviña, who represented the Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to the delegation, said that the City Government encourages the locals to make quality products that are globally competitive.
Laviña said the peace and order situation is a very important component in the business environment that is why the business sector is also invited to take part and do its share in maintaining peace and security.
He added that the climate of peace will prove to be a factor in a more productive community and an essential part in Davao's quest to be a major trading center as well as the hub of technology and communication in Mindanao.
The congress also aims to discuss the situation of workers and delve into strategies and possible incentives that will encourage them to be more productive and innovative in their respective assignations.
The congress was organized by the Philippine Quality and Productivity Movement with the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board and the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers. (GLP)
